The Color Grey

Who knew growing up meant forging an intimate relationship with the color Grey. As children, everything had a place. All ideas crystal clear, everything in its allotted pigeon hole. Colors meant something specific. People were either bad or good; Black or White. Red was racy, sexy, controversial and Blue, serene, timid, conventional. The grass was Green and flowers were a rainbow of colors. But as time passed, and knowledge was acquired everything started to get a bit murky. People are no longer Black or White. Issues are never clear. Rainbows can either be a matter of pride or a symbol of depravity depending on which side you are on. Red is the color of conservatives, Blue of liberals. Green can be good, but also against progress. Everything is a mixture of good or bad. Somewhere in the middle. Average. Grey. Everything is Grey now; people, issues, hair…
